The invention relates to the field of special electrometallurgy and can be used for burning-off surface layer of flat ingots in plants with surface energy source, e.g. those electron-beam. The purpose of this invention is the development of a method providing quality burning-off in one vacuumization. A method for electron-beam burning-off the surface of flat ingots consists in that displacements of liquid metal bath is realized by the displacement of electron beams along the long face of ingot, at that the length of bath is equal to width of ingot, moreover the flat ingot has a possibility of turning around axis thereof.
