The invention relates to the ferrous metallurgy. A method for reconstruction of the blast furnace supporting system involves replacement of shaft columns and furnace hearth by supporting the space truss of furnace throat area on the furnace casing by means of horizontal brackets, which tie columns and upper part of furnace shaft casing, at that after fixation of horizontal areas of brackets to theupper part of furnace columns and shaft from the external side of shaft columns vertical areas of brackets are in addition mounted , which have L-like shape, at that the lower part of vertical areas is fixed to the horizontal area of bracket of L-like shape, and upper part thereof is rigidly fixed to diaphragm of space truss of furnace throat area, and then the cap of shaft column above bracket is cut off, and thereafter new columns of furnace hearth and shaft are mounted between existing columns, and beams are installed and fixed on them around the furnace, which beams form new supporting belt, on which space truss of furnace throat area is supported, and thereafter existing columns are completely demounted. The invention allows to increase the blast furnace shaft volume and promotes hearth columns replacement.
