The container has a body (12) with an opening closed by a lid (14). A closing system has a collar (22) connected to the body and surrounding the opening. A joint (24) is inserted between the collar and the lid. A flanging unit has a flange (26) whose branches tend, by wedge effect, to plate the lid against the collar by compressing the joint, when the diameter of the flange reduces. An independent claim is also included for a pallet for handling a container.
