PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compactness and operability compatible with each other in a digital camera that uses a recording dick such as a DVD for storing digital data. SOLUTION: This digital camera includes a recording medium holding part for a DVD or the like that is inserted thereto, a display part, a battery, and a lens. The display part and the battery are arranged so as to be accommodated on the projection surface of the recording medium holding part which is projected from an operator at photographing. The lens is arranged rotatably on the side of the recording medium holding part, thus making the camera compact. At photographing, it is so constituted that the operator can depress a recording button with the thumb, and a zoom button with the forefinger. A power switch is interlocked with a lens cover.
