PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish more accurate color conversion processing by avoiding flash light emission in photographing accompanied by color conversion processing for converting a desired color into a different color. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus operable in a conversion photographing mode for converting a first color value contained in image data into a second color value by determining a parameter for converting the first color value into the second color value (S407-S414) and using the determined parameter to process the image data resulting from photographing using an imaging means (S415, S416), in the color conversion processing mode, the limitation of an object luminance not to emit flash light is changed into a low luminance side by adjusting the sensitivity of the imaging means.
