PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the intrusion of moisture from a sealing part of an outer package in an electrochemical device such as a battery or an electric double layer capacitor, etc. SOLUTION: The electrochemical device 10 is constituted by storing a laminated body 18 in the outer package 16 composed of a lid metal lamination material 12 and a storing part metal lamination material 14. In one part or all parts of the outermost periphery of the outer package 16, outer periphery ends 21A and 21B are in close proximity or abutted to each other in metal layers 20A and 20B constituting one part of the metal lamination material, and at least one part is covered in outer periphery ends 23A and 23B of two pieces of resin seal layers 22A and 22B directly holding the laminated layer 18 inside the metal lamination material.
