DATA MODULATION METHOD USING SHORT-BLOCK ENCODER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for applying a modulation constraints to data streams by using short-block encoder. SOLUTION: A short-block encoder 101 encodes a subset of bits in a data stream, and then an even-number interleave and an odd-number interleave in the data stream are divided into two data paths. A first modulation encoder 103 encodes an even-number interleave according to a first modulation constraint. A second modulation encoder 104 encodes an odd-number interleave according to a second modulation constraint, which in general coincides with the modulation constraint for the even-number interleave.
