PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade coater having good coating performance and a printing surface coater for a disc using this. SOLUTION: In the blade coater, a mask having an opening is superposed on a planar substrate and the mask is coated with a coating liquid by a blade relatively moved relative to the mask above the mask, thereby a coating layer is formed on a coating surface of the planar substrate exposed to the opening. The blade is a long member in which a pressing surface contacts with the coating liquid at coating is formed on a mask side and straightness indicating a waviness component in a longitudinal direction of the pressing surface is 5μm/10 cm or less.
