PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the area or the photographing direction of a soft tissue in a soft tissue image Pc, being a roentgenogram for observation, to be easily specified in the image without obstructing the observation. SOLUTION: The soft tissue image Pc and a bone tissue image Pa are displayed in parallel on an image displaying monitor 5 by an image parallel displaying section. Therefore, when the area or the photographing direction of a lung tissue is specified during the observation of the lung tissue (soft tissue) Ma which is shown in the soft tissue image Pc on the screen of the image displaying monitor 5, the area or the photographing direction of the lung tissue can be specified while watching a rib tissue (bone tissue) Mb by the bone tissue image Pa which is being displayed in parallel. The rib tissue is a good key for the judgement of the photographing position or the photographing direction of the roentgenogram, and therefore, the specification of the area or the photographing direction of the soft tissue in the soft tissue image Pc is easy. In addition, the bone tissue is simply shown in the bone tissue image Pa, and the rib tissue does not obstruct the observation of the lung tissue as well. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
