<p>A monitor recording device (10) comprises a frame control unit (11), a compression/expansion unit (12), a storage (14), a motion area detecting unit (15), a person area extracting unit (16), a best shot discriminating unit (17), a PinP header creating unit (18), a PinP synthesizing unit (20) and a drawing unit (21). The frame control unit (11) inputs a video signal at a predetermined time interval, e.g., one frame per second. The compression/expansion unit (12) compresses/expands the data of the video signal. The storage (14) records video data compressed. The motion area detecting unit (15) detects the area containing the image of a person to come into and out of a monitor area, from the video data which is outputted by 60 frames per second. The person area extracting unit (16) extracts the area of the face image of a person from the detected area. The best shot discriminating unit (17) discriminates the best shot of the face images extracted. The PinP header creating unit (18) creates head information to be added to the data of the best shot. The PinP synthesizing unit (20) synthesizes the data of the best shot and the video data from the compression/extraction unit (12) on the basis of the header information. The drawing unit (21) draws the images synthesized. Thus, the monitor recording device (10) can specify the monitor target easily.</p> |
