<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of surely informing a user of leaving an original. <P>SOLUTION: Regarding the image forming apparatus having a discharge tray for holding a discharged paper and an original platen which is manually opened/closed, the apparatus includes an open/closed state detecting sensor for detecting whether the original platen is in an open state or a closed state, a discharged paper detecting sensor for detecting whether or not the discharged paper lies on the discharge tray, and also, an informing means for informing the user of leaving the original when detecting that the discharged sheet is removed from the discharge tray while the original platen is not opened based on the detection signal of the open/closed state detecting sensor and the detection signal of the discharged paper detecting sensor after the end of a copying operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
