PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass filter for lowering a color temperature which is used for improving the color reproducibility in the outdoor photographing of a color TV camera or the like and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The glass filter for lowering the color temperature contains substantially no As and contains 55-70% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 13-25% Na<SB>2</SB>O and/or K<SB>2</SB>O, 5-20% BaO, 0.05-0.6% Se, 0.01-1.0% SnO and 0.01-1.0% Sb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>. The method of manufacturing the glass filter for lowering the color temperature is carried out by heat-treating glass having the above composition at a temperature 10-120°C higher than the glass transition point.
