PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent moisture contained in the atmospheric air from freezing in a pipe which returns the atmospheric air to pressure-resistant chambers in a rotary vacuum packaging machine which rotates a large number of the pressure-resistant chambers along an endless track. SOLUTION: The air in the pressure-resistant chamber 20 which rotates along the circular track 11 is sucked and removed through a communication pipe 30 which connects a rotary valve 21 at the central section of the circular track and the pressure-resistant chamber 20. At the same time, after the opening edge of a packaging bag which houses an article to be packaged is heat-sealed in the pressure-resistant chamber, the atmospheric air is returned to the pressure-resistant chamber 20 through the rotary valve 21 and the communication pipe 30 in a rotary vacuum packaging machine. In the rotary vacuum packaging machine, a heater (not shown in the figure) which is installed in the communication pipe 30 and a generator 50 which is driven by the rotating power of the pressure-resistant chamber on the circular track 11 are wire-connected.
