FIELD: transport engineering; security systems. ^ SUBSTANCE: according to invention, marks (traces) of any physical substance are left on route of running on surface of road by device mounted on vehicle. Said marks are revealed by any method, even visually. Following the marks provides location of hi-jacked vehicle. Device starts automatically operating by signal from security sensor in case of hi-jacking. Control device, taking into account information from covered distance sensor, opens shutter through which substance from reservoir flows out along channels and gets onto surface of road on which vehicle runs, thus forming continuous or broken marks. ^ EFFECT: facilitated search of hi-jacked vehicle. ^ 1 dwg
