摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a solar battery that has no unneeded residues on the backside of a semiconductor substrate, has an improved appearance, and has a high power generation efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the solar battery, a pn junction 15 is formed at one main surface side of the semiconductor substrate (p-type silicon substrate 2). The method includes a mask liquid coating process for laminating at least two semiconductor substrates and coating the side of the semiconductor substrate with a mask liquid 3 that becomes a film for preventing a pn junction from being formed by heat treatment; and a pn junction formation process for forming a pn junction at one main surface side of the semiconductor substrate by heat-treating the semiconductor substrate whose side is coated with the mask liquid 3 after separating at least two semiconductor substrates.
