PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor driving device capable of adjusting a distance between an output shaft of a motor and an input shaft of a reduction gear with a fine position adjustment margin of a pedestal and a motor and capable of maintaining position of the center of gravity of the reduction gear low. SOLUTION: When an angle of a tangent a, which passes the periphery of both of an input side gear 17 and an output side gear 18 housed inside a casing 13, against the horizontal direction isαand an angle of inclination of a pedestal arrangement surface 41 of the top surface of the casing 13 against the horizontal direction isβ, the reduction gear 12 is set so thatα≤β. The passenger conveyor driving device is provided with this reduction gear 12, the pedestal 15 fixed onto the pedestal arrangement surface 14, the motor 16 fixed onto the pedestal 15, and a V-belt 6 wrapped between a pulley 30 of the motor 16 and an input side pulley 19 of the reduction gear 12.
