SOLUTION: The steel having excellent corrosion resistance to a hot dip Zn alloy and workability at the time of bending has a composition comprising, by mass, 0.04 to 60% Al and 0.5 to 5% Mg, and the balance zinc with inevitable impurities, and in which, when dipped into a hot dip Zn alloy plating bath heated to a bath temperature of 460°C, the average corrosion rate in the initial 48 hr dipping is≤800 g/m<SP>2</SP>/day, and also, cracks are not generated by 90°bending in the bending radius of 5 mm at the time when its sheet thickness is controlled to 3 mm.
