PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polyimide resin which is relatively inexpensive, has good heat resistance without being deteriorated, is little colored, has good light transmittance, and is soluble in organic solvents. SOLUTION: This aromatic polyimide resin precursor is characterized by being obtained by reacting a tetracarboxylic dianhydride having a fluorene structure with a diamine component having a fluorene structure.
