PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth sewing regardless of the thickness of a binding cloth. SOLUTION: A binding sewing machine comprises: a cloth feeding mechanism 20 for feeding the binding cloth and a body cloth; a sewing machine main shaft motor for driving the cloth feeding mechanism; a binder 30 turned along a cloth feeding direction for making the binding cloth B follow thereto; a needle vertical movement mechanism 40 for locating a needle near the downstream side of the binder; a center blade mechanism 50 for forming a straight cut S to the cloth on the downstream side of a sewing needle; and a corner blade mechanism for forming cuts V in the almost chevron shape. The binder is provided with a guide member 33 for evading a center blade 51 at the end on the downstream side, a center blade mechanism 50 is provided with a driving source 57 different from the main shaft motor of the sewing machine, and more separated arrangement is attained. The binding sewing machine is provided with an operation control means 80 for performing the operation control of continuously driving the driving source of the center blade mechanism until the cloth is fed by a distance which is evaluated by subtracting the length D of the cut in the almost chevron shape from a distance L from the sewing needle to the end on the upstream side in the cloth feeding direction of the center blade after the formation of a stitch T.
