PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technologies for saving energy for drying in a dishwasher. SOLUTION: The dishwasher comprises a washing tub for storing dishes, a detection means for detecting the heat capacity of the dishes, a washing means for spraying washing water into the washing tub, a blowing means for introducing the outside air into the washing tub and exhausting the steam inside the washing tub to the outside, a heating means for heating the inside of the washing tub, and a controller connected to the detection means, the washing means, the blowing means and the heating means. The controller sequentially performs a control procedure for implementing a heating/rinsing process to operate the washing means and heating means, a control procedure for implementing a first drying process to operate the blowing means with an output lower than a regular output, and a control procedure for implementing a second drying process to operate the blowing means with the regular output one after another. The controller is characterized by the adjustment to extend/shorten the period of time to implement the first drying process based on the index (the index indicating the heat capacity) detected by the detection means.
