The invention relates to a light diffusion for motor vehicle headlights, wherein at least one motor vehicle headlight (F) comprises an optical element (I, R) for reflecting a light of a light source (L), a housing (G) and a transparent cover pane (A), a light diffusion has a light-and-dark border (HDG) and several light functions are generated by adjusting the light diffusion. The aim of said invention is to obtain different light functions by light diffusion only and with the aid of a simple and low-cost headlight structure. For this purpose, the light-and-dark border (HDG) is substantially horizontally extended in the area of the illuminated roadway, the light diffusion exhibits a high intensity in a central area located directly above the substantially horizontally extendable light-and-dark border (HDG), said light-and-dark border (HDG) of the light diffusion is substantially symmetrically shaped and different light functions are generated by vertically adjusting the light diffusion. |
