<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large-scale CO<SB>2</SB>reduction system using a marine biomass, which stably improves a growth density without being influenced by environmental conditions of weather, etc., minimizes obstacles to ship navigation/fishing, makes and manages a large-scale seaweed bed, transports and treats harvested marine algae in a short time, obtains a fossil fuel substitute product such as hydrogen/ethanol, etc., and isolates CO<SB>2</SB>in the ocean so as to actualize fixation of CO<SB>2</SB>on a real global scale, a difficult problem which the global environment faces. <P>SOLUTION: The large-scale CO<SB>2</SB>reduction system using a marine biomass comprises an ocean plantation for growing marine algae in the ocean, an offshore platform ship that moves or anchors in the vicinity of the ocean plantation, harvests marine algae, partially burns the marine algae by a fixed process to give a predetermined product, recovers and liquefies CO<SB>2</SB>, an ocean industry infrastructure that supports the management of the ocean plantation and the offshore platform ship and comprises a plurality of satellite systems and terrestrial central support systems and preferably an ocean isolation system for fixing recovered/liquefied CO<SB>2</SB>in the ocean. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
