PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire saw having superior grinding capacity, by effectively using a grinding surface of beads, by preventing partial abrasion of the beads. SOLUTION: In this wire saw 1, columnar beads 2 having a circular cross section formed by fixing a super abrasive grain layer to a surface of cylindrical base metal, are arranged at an interval in the longitudinal direction of a wire 3. Every time when arranging these columnar beads 2 by the optional number, elliptic beads 4 having an elliptic cross section are arranged.
