PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steer-by-wire type steering device for a vehicle capable of being surely steered by a simple constitution even when an electronic control device is abnormal without excessive redundancy. SOLUTION: This steering device is provided with an AC power source 32 capable of supplying AC power of three phases, a switching device 33 for switching power supply to each motor 13A and 13B from driving power outputted by each steering ECU 16A and 16B to AC power outputted by the AC power source 32 when abnormalities of both the steering ECU 16A and 16B occur, and a supply ratio varying device 50 capable of changing the ratio of each AC power supplied to each motor 13A and 13b according to a steering operation. The switching device 33 supplies AC power to each motor 13A and 13B so that each motor 13A and 13B may be mutually driven in the opposite directions at the time of the switching.
