PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a content transmission system capable of shortening content starting time and of making power consumption low. SOLUTION: The content transmission system comprises a transmitter 100 and a receiver 200 equipped with a human feeling sensor 19, wherein a state of the receiver 200 is changed in response to detection results of the human feeling sensor 19. There are existent as the state of the receiver 200 a standby state where content transmission can be started at once, an awake state where a resource necessary for the content transmission is released, and a sleep state where power consumption is more reduced than the standby state and the awake state.
