PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a city water meter-reading rod reading a meter accurately and rapidly even if the inside of a meter measure is dark. SOLUTION: The city water meter-reading rod 1 is used for reading a city water meter, and comprises a rod body 4, having: a hook section 2 for opening/closing a lid that is used as a lever for opening by hooking a meter measure lid, or the like at one end side; and a grip section 3 at the other end side. The city water meter-reading rod 1 uses an LED or the like for illuminating the rod body 4 downward in the longitudinal direction as a luminaire 51A and mainly has an illumination function 5 operated by a switch 53.
