PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle equipped with a heat storage system reduced in energy loss by maintaining the temperature of a combustion chamber of an engine to an appropriate temperature. SOLUTION: The combustion chamber is rapidly cooled by injecting cold water stored in a heat storage tank at high load. The temperature of the combustion chamber of the engine is thereby maintained in a high temperature region where fuel consumption is satisfactory, without generating knocking. When cooling water in the heat storage tank is used, if a fan 440 for blowing air to a radiator 400 is in operation, an engine ECU 1000 stops the fan 440 to reduce energy loss upon detecting a high load state. The generation of knocking is prevented by cooling the combustion chamber with cold air in the heat storage tank at high load, and at that time, the radiator fan is stopped to further improve energy efficiency.
