PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee protection device for a vehicle capable of correctly projecting a knee receiving plate backwardly by a method other than an airbag, and returning the plate forward by a predetermined reaction force. SOLUTION: Since a lid (a knee receiving plate) 6 is projected backwardly by an actuator 14, the lid 6 can be correctly projected and returned forward by the predetermined reaction force, and is easily adjusted. Since the lid 6 is used for the knee receiving plate, no sense of incongruity on appearance by providing a knee protection device is given. Articles can be taken in/taken out of a glove box 5 via an opening 7 of a base 8 by opening/closing a cover 9. The lid 6 can be projected backwardly by projecting a piston 18 from a cylinder 17 in the actuator 14, and the lid can be moved forward associated with the reaction force of the lid 6 by an impact load absorption means provided between the cylinder 17 and a bracket 16.
