FIELD: railway transport. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in electrical equipment of rail rolling stock for automation of control of electric drives of locomotives and motor cars with induction motors. According to proposed method of protection of wheelsets of rail vehicles with thyratron-induction electric drive from skidding and slipping, control signals are generated in case of skidding (slipping) in one or several wheelsets which change mode of operation of electric drive. Control of motor by rotor position is changed for synchronous mode. ^ EFFECT: prevention of development of wheelsets and implementing of mode of drive operation limited according to conditions of adhesion which increased traction (braking) properties of electric train. ^ 2 dwg
