<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display positions or distribution of image files, among all image files, meeting retrieval conditions so as to confirm the positions or the distribution and to display images meeting the retrieval conditions in order when displaying the images meeting the retrieval conditions from image files managed with photographing dates/times. <P>SOLUTION: If retrieval conditions are changed by operating up/down keys 450, 451, images meeting the changed conditions are retrieved. An indicator 407 is then displayed to indicate a relative position of an image group meeting the retrieval conditions in the order of photographing dates/times of image files.
