摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion exchange membrane that suppresses fuel permeation to realize excellent performances in a solid polymer-type fuel cell, a novel sulfonic group-containing polymer applicable to the ion exchange membrane, an ion exchange resin comprising the sulfonic group-containing polymer, and a membrane/electrode assembly and a fuel cell obtained using the sulfonic group-containing polymer or the ion exchange membrane.

SOLUTION: The sulfonic group-containing polymer comprises a recurring unit having a structure represented by chemical formula (1) (wherein X is an -S(=O)2- group or a -C(=O)- group; Y is H or a monovalent cation; and Ar1is a structure represented by chemical formula (2)).
