<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide particulate barium titanate powder capable of realizing a reduced thickness and an increased dielectric constant of a dielectric layer in a multilayer ceramic capacitor, and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A titanium compound and a barium compound each having a specific particle diameter are mixed and a mechanochemical reaction method is applied while applying a DC electric field or an AC electric field to obtain the objective barium titanate powder having an average particle diameter of 25-50 nm and exhibiting a perovskite type structure in which a lattice constant ratio c/a is ≥1.001. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
