<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save energy by averaging the electric power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A control voltage switching means 31 is switched to a DC power supply 26 side, when an image is formed, and a DC voltage, outputted from the DC power supply 26, is supplied to a control voltage converting portion 29, which in turn converts the supplied DC voltage into a low voltage and switches to an engine control portion 36 side.
