<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can erase image data certainly even if the power source of the image forming apparatus is disconnected during erasure processing while a nonvolatile storage means is used. <P>SOLUTION: After the power source of the image forming apparatus is turned on in a SP7, whether or not management information exists in an erasure folder is determined. If the management information exists in a SP8, the erasure processing of image data is performed based on information on the management information. When it is determined in an SP3 whether the power source is turned off during the erasure processing, if the power source-off is determined in an SP4, the erasure processing of the image data is interrupted, and the management information remains.
