TOROIDAL TYPE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission capable of effectively cooling a thrust roller bearing by a small amount of oil supply and reducing power loss of a pump for supply of lubricant and improving efficiency of the transmission.

SOLUTION: The toroidal type continuously variable transmission has the thrust roller bearing 24 rotatably supporting a power roller 11 while it is sandwiched between the power roller 11 and a trunnion 15 and it also supports load adding on the power roller 11 in a thrust direction. A larger amount of lubricant is supplied to an inner ring side rather than an outer ring side in the thrust roller bearing 24.
