<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device, a projector and a method for manufacturing the light source device, capable of drastically improving a use rate of light source light by use of a sub reflection mirror having a reflection face disposed oppositely to a reflection face of an elliptical reflector. <P>SOLUTION: This light source device 10 comprises: an arc tube 11 having a light emission part 111 and sealing parts 1121, 1122; the elliptical reflector 12; and the sub reflection mirror 13 covering a front side of the arc tube 11, and reflecting light flux emitted from the arc tube 11 onto the elliptical reflector 12. In the light source device 10, a light emission center of discharge light emission of the arc tube 11 is disposed at a first focal position L1 of the elliptical reflector 12, the sub reflection mirror 13 is configured as a member different from the arc tube 11, and a peripheral part of the sub reflection mirror 13 is stored inside a cone shown by lines L3, L4 connecting a second focal position L2 of the elliptical reflector 12 and a sealing part 1122 tip side end part of the arc tube 11 when installed to the sealing part 1122 on the front side of the arc tube 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
