PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal sphere for a rolling element having excellent formability which has a smooth surface and a high sphericity. SOLUTION: The metal sphere for a rolling element is composed of an Ni based alloy having a liquidus temperature of≤1,350°C, and in which the difference between the liquidus temperature and solidus temperature is≤150°C, and is spherically solidified. The metal sphere for a rolling element is solidified preferably in an inert gas. According to this invention, a sphere stock for a rolling element capable of maintaining required mechanical properties without being subjected to the conventional forging stage, and further easy to be subjected to a final accurate polishing operation can be provided.
