PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spot welding electrode device that automatically adjusts and corrects wear of the receiving end electrode tip for performing spot welding and that makes series spot welding possible without deforming a workpiece of a hat-shaped cross section. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with: a trapezoidal and tubular tip guide 2 fixedly installed on a fixed base 3; a tip 7 provided on the slope 4 of the tip guide 2 in a manner movable forward and backward in the axial direction orthogonal to the slope 4; an actuating shaft member 8 vertically movably inserted in the tube of the tip guide 2 and intended to actuate the tip 7 forward and backward; and an actuator 11 for vertically controlling this actuating shaft member 8.
