Apparatus suitable for spraying paint etc. comprises a needle valve 3 adapted to control the flow of paint supplied through a conduit 2, a piston 5 mounted on the shank of the needle valve and acted upon by high pressure compressed air supplied through a conduit 8, and a nozzle 10 supplied with air from the said conduit 8 and leading into a venturi passage 13-16, the resultant low pressure air stream serving to atomize the paint at its outlet. Atmospheric air is entrained into the venturi passage adjacent the nozzle 10 through a passage 17. The apparatus may be suspended by a member 18. A spring 6 normally maintains the needle valve of the inoperative apparatus closed. |
