<p>A method for detecting a single nucleotide polymorphism characterized by mixing (A) I) a nucleic acid probe that can complementarily hybridize a nucleic acid to be evaluated having at least one single nucleotide polymorphism and has a nucleotide sequence with the addition of a cytosine residue or a thymine residue at a position adjacent to the 5'- or 3'-terminal side of a position pairing with the single nucleotide polymorphism, or II) a nucleic acid probe that can complementarily hybridize the antisense strand of a nucleic acid to be evaluated having at least one single nucleotide polymorphism and has a ucleotide sequence with the addition of a cytosine residue or a thymine residue at a position adjacent to the 5'- or 3'-terminal side of a position pairing with the single nucleotide polymorphism on the antisense strand, (B) a compound that can recognize a bulge base and (C) the nucleic acid to be evaluated, and detecting a signal based on the (B) compound that recognizes a cytosine bulge or a thymine bulge that is formed when the nucleic acid probe and the nucleic acid to be evaluated are hybridized to each other; and a kit for the method.</p> |
