<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discriminating unit for a processing equipment which can securely, correctly discriminate a processing head and the processing equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The discriminating unit for the processing equipment includes a power sensor 16 which supports the processing head 14 detachably and a control circuit 24 which discriminates the processing head 14 based on the weight detected by the power sensor 16. In such a discriminating unit for the processing equipment, e. g. when the processing head 14 is exchanged, the weight detected by the power sensor 16 changes. Generally, the weight of the processing head 14 is specified for each processing heads themselves.
