PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver whereby a viewer can switch a present program into another program attracting him or her in a short time. SOLUTION: The television receiver includes: a tuner 11 for receiving a broadcast signal Sb; a display section 21 for displaying a video image on the basis of the broadcast signal Sb; a reservation information storage section 15 for storing information of programs, reserved for viewing with priority; a remote controller 3 capable of switching operations to switch a program displayed on the display section 21 to another program; and a main control section 18 that selects either of a program whose priority is higher by one and a program whose priority is lower by one than that of the program displayed on the display section 21 from information of programs stored in the reservation information storage section 15 when switching operations are carried out and allows the tuner 11 to receive the broadcast signal Sb of the selected program.
