PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic warning sound detector for detecting a warning sound such as siren sound certainly. SOLUTION: The automatic warning sound detector comprises frequency detectors 2a-2g for detecting the frequency of a warning sound and its neighboring frequencies when they exist in a detection object sound, correlators 4a-4g for detecting the intermittent pattern of sound for each frequency detected by the frequency detectors 2a-2g or the volume variation pattern for each frequency, a maximum signal selector 5 and a level judging unit 6 for judging which combination of the frequency and the intermittent pattern or the volume variation pattern of sound matches the frequency of warning sound and the intermittent pattern or the volume variation pattern of sound, and a warning sound informing unit 7 for originating information indicating that the detection object sound is the warning sound when it is judged as the warning sound.
