PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device by which a roll paper holder can be prevented from holding a roller paper in a wrong direction. SOLUTION: In a plotter 10, an image can be formed on a roll paper P held by the roll paper holder 50, even when one end part 52a in the longitudinal direction of an iron core 52 is fitted to a first fitting part 46 while the other end part 52b in the longitudinal direction is fitted to a second fitting part 48, or even when one end part 52a in the longitudinal direction of the iron core 52 is fitted to a second fitting part 48 while the other end part 52b in the longitudinal direction is fitted to the first fitting part 46.
