PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degrading of image quality due to variation of a gap between an ink ejection nozzle and a recording medium. SOLUTION: This inkjet recorder comprises a recording head 25 having a plurality of ink ejection nozzles arranged thereon, a conveyance belt for conveying a recording medium such as a paper sheet in order to record an image by using the recording head, a gap detection section 43 for detecting a gap between the ink ejection nozzle of the recording head and a surface of a recording medium on which ink is to be deposited, an image processing program 332 for converting input image data of which one pixel is constituted of 8 bits to image data of which one pixel is constituted of 3 bits by dither processing, and a switching means that switches a dither pattern used in the dither processing to be one in which a generation direction of dots by deposition of the ink is different from the conveyance direction of the recording medium such as one generating the dots in the diagonal direction when the gap detected by the gap detection section 43 becomes greater.
