FIELD: transport engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to brakes designed for emergency stopping of trucks. Proposed device contains brake wedge and its suspension system arranged under body bottom near truck wheels. Suspension system contains pair of working drums with wound on flexible cables secured at top of wedge, brake drum with brake shoe, and hand winch with working and driven gears arranged on common shaft. Brake shoe is pressed to surface of brake drum by spring and is connected with armature of electromagnet connected to truck battery through emergency switch. ^ EFFECT: improved safety in operation, reduced wear of brakes. ^ 3 cl, 2 dwg
