<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of an unusual sound and pressure fluctuation generated by vibration of valve components due to the flow of a fluid passing through a valve part during operation of a relief valve. <P>SOLUTION: A relief valve 70 for relieving fluid pressure to a tank side when fluid pressure in a fluid pressure circuit reaches specified pressure, includes a ball 76 for opening/closing a relief hole 75a of a valve seat, a ball receiver 77 for holding the ball and a compression coil spring 78 for biasing the ball in the direction of closing the relief hole 75a. A passage hole for returning to the tank side the pressure fluid relieved through the relief hole is opened to the inside wall surface of a valve hole 70a in which the ball, ball receiver and compression coil spring are assembled and arranged. An annular elastic member 90 is fitted to a part of the ball receiver so that the ball receiver is movably held in the valve hole. A spring chamber 81 provided with the compression coil spring is formed on one end side of the valve hole.
