<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system, an information providing server, etc. which proactively obtain information from a wide-ranging consumers, conduct a quick, inexpensive and precise survey on consumers' behavior, and provide the results thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The information providing system is equipped with: a first terminal used by a product purchaser; and an information providing server to which the first terminal can be connected through a network. The first terminal comprises: an information reading means for reading information of a receipt issued at the time when a product is sold in a store; an information acquiring means for acquiring at least the information on the selling price of each product from the information of a receipt; and an information transmitting means for transmitting the information on the selling price to the information providing server. The information providing server comprises: a means for receiving the information on the selling price of the product transmitted from the first terminal; a sales amount calculation means for calculating the sales amount for each product by summing up the received selling price of each product; and an information providing means for generating information on the sales amount for each product calculated, and providing it to a second terminal requesting provision of the information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
