PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of an electrooptical device whose capacitance ratio can be secured even when pixel area is reduced. SOLUTION: The electrooptical device comprises: an electrooptical material 130; a pixel electrode 114 arranged on one side of the electrooptical material; a switching element 117 connected with the pixel electrode; and a counter electrode 122 oppositely facing the pixel electrode via the electrooptical material. In the electrooptical device, a capacitance electrode 112 which is disposed to face oppositely the pixel electrode on the opposite side of the electrooptical device, and which constitutes an auxiliary capacitance between the pixel electrode is provided.
