<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide crystallized glass which is easily formable and high in bending strength and a device for optical communications using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The crystallized glass comprises a main crystal composed of aβ-quartz solid solution or aβ-eucryptite solid solution, has -16×10<SP>-7</SP>-(-45×10<SP>-7</SP>)/°C average thermal expansion coefficient at -40 to 100°C, contains 0.5-2.9% by mass in total of TiO<SB>2</SB>, ZrO<SB>2</SB>and P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>where the molar ratio (Li<SB>2</SB>O+ZnO)/SiO<SB>2</SB>is 0.15-0.35. The device for optical communications is the crystallized glass comprising a main crystal composed of aβ-quartz solid solution or aβ-eucryptite solid solution, having -16×10<SP>-7</SP>-(-45×10<SP>-7</SP>)/°C average thermal expansion coefficient at -40 to 100°C and containing 0.5-2.9% by mass in total of TiO<SB>2</SB>, ZrO<SB>2</SB>and P<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>where the molar ratio (Li<SB>2</SB>O+ZnO)/SiO<SB>2</SB>is 0.15-0.35 is used for a member for compensating temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
